Domestic Assaults

Domestic Assault also known as Intimate Partner Violence which can stem from but not limited to assault, threatening death or bodily harm, criminal or sexual harassment and breach of court orders.  Domestic Assault charges are not taken lightly by the courts in Ontario.

More recently there has been a spike in the domestic assault charges as most domestic partners have been spending a significant amount of time together due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Police will often respond to the call made by a neighbour, roommate or other family member and based on that information you will find yourself in handcuffs for Domestic Assault.

When you are charged with Domestic Assault, whether this is your first time or second time, you can be faced with jail time. Often, Domestic Assaults stem from a misunderstanding or as a way to “get back” at a domestic partner. Either way, this puts you, the Defendant at risk for your freedom.
